Band Diary

Recording new EP (Part 4 - Overdubs)

May 2009. Final overdubs, backing vocals, slacking, etc. Thumpermonkey are distracted from the job in hand. Curry is distracting.

Recording new EP (Part 3 - Vox)

January 2009. More recording for the upcoming Thumpermonkey release. Woodman and Rael prove that they are both professional musicians with a solid work ethic. They also learn along the way that they fundamentally hate each other. Luckily they are attacked by zombies half way through, and don't have to concentrate on reconciling their differences. Phew!

Recording new EP (Part 2 - Bass & Guitar)

Thumpermonkey record guitar and bass for their new album at Briggs Warehouse, Old Street. Brrr!

Recording new EP (part 1 - Drums)

Thumpermonkey recording drums in High Wycombe for their as yet untitled new release.

Bass Recording (2008)

Whilst I was recording my parts for the upcoming Thumpermonkey album, Ben Wren shot a little video on his new camera, and I look reasonably well dressed in it. Here, more to feed my personal obsession self-archiving than anything else, is the session from December 2008.

Overdubbing Slug City

Gigantic metal guitarist, or tiny metal guitar? You decide.

Michael Woodman overdubs a second guitar track on "Slug City" with his Hofner travel guitar, strung with 4 baritone strings. This is at the recording session for "Bring Me Sun", with Ant Chapman, in 2007.

Live Promo (2005)

Snippets of Thumpermonkey Live at the Bull and Gate, 2005. This was almost our first gig as a live ensemble.
