Belfast man dies of music overdose
"Robert McGahertz, brother to the deceased, said it was not unusual for Chris to take in seven or more different musical styles in under an hour, a habit which had progressed rapidly over the space of a few months.
“He had got into some very weird sh*t lately, stuff like Thumpermonkey and another band called the Mayors of Miyazaki, which are quite safe if listened to every once in a while and in moderation but not back-to-back constantly…Chris always took things that bit further,” the brother revealed.
A coroner’s report has revealed that Chris had ingested up to five gigabytes of music consistently at a level of 108Db at the time of his death, more than three times the fatal level of music."
