Over-egging the pudding of good taste, Thumpermonkey shake up an ill-advised cocktail of post-metal sludge, Bowie-esque warcries and mathematics homework; dropping in a brine-tinged olive of 70's progressive rock, and finishing it off with a gaudy little umbrella.
Described variously in the press as: "a mad symphony of the bizarre"; "David Bowie meets Napalm Death"; "a bunch of fuckin' loons dickin' about"; and "very English"; Thumpermonkey have been writing and recording in their current line-up since 2005. They completed their first LP, Chap With The Wings, Five Rounds Rapid, in February 2006, received as "an unusual and darkly menacing record", "a startling sonic collage" and leaving "a lasting impression and a sinister aftertaste." They toured Great Britain in Summer ’06 and are set to release their new album in May 2007.
